1、概述 General Description
690V/400V，频率为50HZ;也可以做成型号为1AL100L-6 2.5KW ,
The three-phase asynchronous motor for the yaw gear is a kind of
special motor for the wind turbine dedicatedly developed by our
company. The motor type is 1AL100L-6 2.2kW, 690V/400V, 50Hz.
And we can also adapt for 690V/400V, 60Hz with the type of
1AL100L-6 2.5kW. The dimensions, installation type and all
performance can meet the technical requirements of the special motor
for the wind turbine.
The motor installation type is B14A and it can be connected to the
reducer with the shield flange on NDE. In order to reduce the weight of
the motor, the motor base, the front shield, the wire terminal box are of
aluminum alloy. As per the specification, the brake is inside the rear
part of the motor. The voltage of the brake coil is of three-phase
There six connection terminals inside the terminal box and the
motor has six terminals from the stator coil, U, V, W, L1, L2, L3.
Among them, U, V, W are the heads and L1, L2, L3 are the tails of the
stator coils. The brake also has six terminals from the brake coil
indicated by U1, V1, W1, U2, V2, W2 among which U1, V1, W1 are
the heads and U2, V2, W2 are the tails of the brake coil. The wires from
the stator and the brake coil are connected to the studs inside the
terminal box and the connection is shown in Figure 1. There is the
dedicated earth screw inside the terminal box. The motor should be
earthed solidly during the operation.

Safety operation conditions of the motor
In order to guarantee the proper operation of the motor, the
following operation conditions should be respected:
The altitude should not be beyond 5,000m.
The ambient temperature in all the seasons for the motor operation
should be within the range of -30°C to +40°C.
The voltage, the frequency and the operation current of the power
supply should follow the values indicated on the nameplate of the motor.
The voltage can fluctuate within the range +/-10% of the rated value
and the frequency can fluctuate with in the range +6% or -8% of the
The maximum relative humidity in the month with highest
humidity should not be beyond 90%.
The anti-corrosion capacity of the motor against the environment
is designed as C4H.
Transportation and storage of the motor
The motor is packed and delivered after the inspection and the
tests inside the manufacturer. The motor is protected in all the
directions inside the package in case of the damage during the
transportation. When the motor arrives to the destination, please open
the package to inspect whether or not there is the damage on the motor.
And check if the data on the nameplate are accordance with the
The storage environment should be dry and with good ventilation,
no termites, no smoke and fog, no corrosive gas in order not to damage
the insulation and the conductors. It is not permitted to store the motor
with the flammable and explosive matters. The storage temperature for
the motor should be within the range -40°C to +50°C.
5、电动机起动前的检查 Inspection before the motor starts
Select the motor connection as per the power supply and Figure 1.
Check the insulation resistance of the windings (of stator and the
brake coil) to the earth with 500V Mega meter. In the cold status, the
measured insulation resistance should not be lower than 1MΩ. If the
insulation resistance value is low, the dry process should be done. The
windings should be discharged to the earth.
Check if all the screws are tight.
Check that whether the wire terminals inside the terminal box are
accordance with the leading terminals in phase sequence, whether the
earth wire are solid and whether earth situation is in good status.
Only after the inspection mentioned above, the motor can be
started. The motor must be directly started with the full voltage (the
motor can not start normally due to the brake is still closed due to the
reduced voltage if the reduced voltage starting is employed). After the
motor starts, an idle operation is needed for a period of time and pay
attention to the bearing temperature and it should not exceed 95°C. The
motor should not have the abnormal sound, vibration, overheat locally,
etc. If the abnormalities are found, the motor should，stop immediately
and be check to make the trouble shooting.
6、电动机的使用与保养 Operation and maintenance
The motor is designed for IP55. The bearings are of the sealed
ones. The motor normally does not need the frequent maintenance
except for the brake.
The brake is one of the critical components and plays an important
role during the motor operation. Due to the frequent startup of the motor,
the maintenance with a certain interval on the brake is necessary and
the maintenance frequency is at least once per three months. During the
maintenance, check whether there is a loosen part for the tightening
components, whether the brake gap is in the normal situation. Normally
the gap will become bigger due to the abrasion of the friction disc and
the brake performance becomes worse. In this case, the brake gap must
be adjusted. The normal gap of the brake is between 0.4mm and 1.2mm.
Before adjusting the brake gap, the brake structure should be
familiar with and the adjustment should follow the procedure. The
structure of the brake can be seen in Figure 2.

The brake gap adjustment follows the procedure below:
Dismantle the motor hood and open the dust-proof cover on the
Rotate all the hollow bolts with several turns counter-clockwise
and make it separate from the end plate.
Tighten the installation screws clockwise and make the brake gap t
reduced and vice versa. Regulate the installation screws and make the
brake gap inside 0.4 – 1.2mm inspected with a micro feeler. The best
brake gap is 0.5-0.8mm with even gap around the circle.
After the regulation on the installation screws, tighten the hollow
bolts clockwise and make it closely against the end plate.
Recover the dust-proof cover after the regulation. Put the hood back.
6.3.6 注意 Note
Don’t rotate the Torque Adjustment Bolts during the regulation for
the brake gap because the brake torque is already adjusted (about
22Nm) and the arbitrary rotation on the torque adjustment bolts will
change the brake torque.
The power supply voltage, frequency and the load current should
be recorded precisely with the certain interval during the motor
